Exhibition: Journeys

ARLENE MUNRO is a landscape painter living and working in Angus, Scotland. A graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art, where she studied Theatre and Fine Art, her practice unfolds through an attentiveness to place — both familiar and far travelled.

Her paintings arise from lived moments within the landscape: fleeting light, shifting weather, the quiet resonance of memory. Moving between Scotland and the Middle East, her work carries traces of these journeys, where experience and recollection settle into paint.

Through expressive, gestural mark-making, Munro evokes atmosphere as much as form, allowing each surface to breathe with a sense of presence. Narrative is not imposed but emerges — woven through colour, movement, and the weight of remembered places.

Her work is held in private collections in the UK and internationally.
